Traffic models, digital twins, real-time monitoring… Just turn on the news, and you’ll see that everything is evolving rapidly—traffic included. My opinion? We still don’t fully understand how to leverage all the new tools at our disposal. Advances in technology and computing have enabled us to build larger models and refine calculation methodologies developed in the mid-20th century. However, the approach remains the same: attempting to replicate an approximation of reality. What we’re witnessing now isn’t just another step in the trend; it may represent a fundamental shift in our conception of models.
